I for one ge...I think I get what you're saying. I for one get cringe-ingly embarrassed when anyone gives me a compliment, especially if I'm unsure of myself at the time. I guess it's cos it's calling attention to something you're wary of - of course you want the compliments, but at the same time <i>oh god they're looking at meeeeee D:</i>.<br /><br />It's also hard being called brave when you're feeling like a nervous wreck inside - you shouldn't feel like that when you're just being you, you want to be like those people on TV who are completely confident and at ease in their own skins, not worrying every minute if you look ok and who's looking. <br /><br />That said, it is brave to put yourself out there, because sadly there are people who won't understand your crossdressing, and so of course you risk negative reactions. Sad but true. I guess confidence is something we build up - start by challenging yourself to go dressed up to something you'd usually shy away from, or around a friend who's never seen you dressed up.
